i was gonna write a rly long story but tbh im dead, its my first day of school and naah
so imma summarise:
- they meet young; Al's visiting with an ambassador to learn n shit, and he walks out in the city a lot with his guards just exploring
- sees Jake, who's dad is a potter and he's in the capital of Nordunor just selling pots or smth
- since Al's there for literal months, he just visits a lot? idek fill in the blanks
- Al goes back to Lucan sad
- Jake's kinda over it tbh, and Al never told him he was a prince so Jake deadass thinks Al was just in some nobleman's party
- remembers Al but continues on lol
- married Chadwick's mom
- has kids
- mom dies, Jake's devastated, stays to raise kids with help of his elder sister
- kids grow up, everything's good
- Jake kinda decides to travel around the kingdoms selling pots or sm shit idek
- goes to Lucan, to the main market, sets up there
- its a big market day! newly-crowned Al goes out to greet his populace (this is like, 17 years later)
- imagine them just arriving close to Jake's stall (Jake still doesnt kno Al's a king lmao)
- Al kinda goes out, starts walking, adoring crowds
- looks over, spots Jake, jake drops hit pots
- bc he never forgot him?? like he got over it but there was still a bittersweet feeling that nothing really ended, so he's had this *romantic fantasy* of meeting his old Lucan sweetheart
- old Lucan sweetheart is the fUCKING KING
- idk shit happens afterwards, Al is v v gay and never married bc his sister has kids anyway so his succession's grand
- Al never forgot either
- sm shit happens and basically Jake stays there
